About the Orchard

This Orchard was purchased December 2003 through a public auction with Bayleys Auctions. We all felt that it would be a worthwhile property to purchase as it was just down the road from our other Orchard – Ngati He Orchard. This Orchard was purchased after we sold Raumati Orchard in Te Puke. The legal description to this land is Ngapeke No.1 ML1270 BLK XV Tauranga S.D.  We purchased this property for $1.4 million. It was originally known as Taihape Orchards Limited. We had the Orchard blessed by Hati Kururangi, our Hahi Ratana Minita. It was decided by all Trustees and Whanau in this area that the Orchard be named Ngapeke Orchard and no other name. This Orchard builds up the assets for the Owners in Ranginui No.12 Block, likewise when we had Raumati Orchard in Te Puke.

This property is located just 10km from the central business district of Tauranga City and a little further to Mount Maunganui. It is in the Western Bay of Plenty District Council district and borders the Tauranga City Council district. Surrounding properties include orchards, grazing, lifestyle and forestry. It is situated above the road and enjoys excellent views over Tauranga, Mount Maunganui and harbour. The views will only be truly recognised once the pine trees on the property have been removed.

The contour is varied with good areas of flat land where the kiwifruit is planted and a mixture of sloping and steeper contour where the pines are planted. Access to the main part of the property is by way of sealed drive that meanders through part of the pine forest and has an excellent feel.  This Orchard has a lot of potential for the future as it has the forestry area which inturn will bring a profit for the benefit of the Owners in Ranginui 12 Block.
